The name of the bed as well as its way of construction are inspired by the wooden transport boxes for vegetables called Stiegen in German. A prominent detail of construction that assures safe stacking of the boxes is the slightly displaced triangular fillets. The corpus of Stiege is slim, delicate, and accentuated in the horizontal. This makes the stacked bed a beautiful piece of furniture that can also be used for seating. The stacked single bed can upon necessity be easily turned into a double bed.
