The project featured a field trip to the headquarters of Nils Holger Moormann in Aschau, followed by a lightweight construction workshop in the studios of Burg Giebichenstein. Using 15 x15mm wooden strips, rope, and simple woodworking joints, the aim was to create load-bearing structures that are light, rigid and structurally well-conceived. The best specimens were awarded prizes in a load test, and a shelf design by Henrik Bettels and Marco Ziegler was subsequently developed into the prototype “Drillshelf.”
